Sorry, perhaps your translation might mislead those people who are going to reply your topic.
In your topic, it is talking about if the advertising should take its responsibility of the excessive consumption, but not talking about who causes the excessive consumption.
Based on your topic, the excessive consumption is a certain circumstance. You don't have to argue about if it is true or not. You may accept that the excessive consumption is a truth.
Besides that, you also don't have to argue about if it is caused by advertisements or not. You may admit that the excessive consumption is caused by advertisements.
However, what's the most important, in my opinion, is that the advertising don't have to be blamed.
As all of us known, the most significant purpose of advertisements are encouraging people's buying. If there is some excessive consumption which we don't need, I think it is the fault of ourselves. It is us who can not control ourselves very well. We don't have any excuse to blame the advertisements.
Take the story of lawyers as an example. The job of them are defending for their client. If, I mean if, their clients who are real murders have been sent free without any punishment, it is not the fault of those lawyers, although it is because of the lawyer's defendence. I think we should blame the police who has not work hard on finding enough evidence.
So, coming back to this topic, even if there is any excessive consumptions, we shouldn't blame the advertisements, but should blame ourselves who don't pay enough attentions to control our willing of purchase.
Therefore, no matter if there is any excessive consumption, and no matter if the excessive consumption is caused by advertising or not, the advertising is not responsible for the excessive consumption. If we do don't like the excessive consumption, we should find out the problems on ourselves. |
