全国大学生英语辩论赛
national undergraduate english debating competition

"外研社杯"全国英语辩论赛自1997年开赛以来，一直是爱好英语的大学生们关注的一项
赛事。每年的比赛都推出了很多优秀的选手，极大地调动了学生练习英语的积极性。
university students interested in english have attended the "foreign
language teaching and research press cup" national english debating
competition since its founding in 1997. many outstanding contestants have
appeared in each year's competition. because of this event, university
students from all over china have become more motivated to learn english.

in 1997, we hold the first national english debating competition.
在1997年,我们举办了第一届全国英语辩论赛.
twenty-three teams participated the 2000 english debating competition. the
university of international business and economics got the first prize.
23支代表队参加了2000年的辩论赛,对外经济贸易大学获得了冠军.

由于赛事规模较大、参赛选手比较优秀和评委组成较权威，"外研社杯"全国英语辩论赛
成为中国较高水平的英语辩论赛。今年的第六届辩论赛在大家的期待中拉开了序幕。
known for its grand scale, outstanding participants, and authoritative
judges, the "fltrp cup" is undoubtedly the most prestigious in china. this
year everyone waited in excited anticipation of the opening of the sixth
annual "fltrp cup".

this activity has been gaining a huge polarity. for example, in 1997,only 8
universities took part in this activity, but now i think there are as many
as 82 universities, which have taken part in this year's contents.
辩论赛的规模越来越大了.在1997年的比赛中只有8所大学参加.但是在今年比赛中将有
82所大学参加预赛.

经过紧张的预赛,82个代表队中,有16支代表队脱颖而出,来到北京参加了总决赛。同学
们所辩论的题目都是与时代发展有关的热点问题，场场比赛都很扣人心弦。
eighty-two universities participated in the preliminaries, and only 16
universities earned scores high enough to qualify for the finals held in
beijing. the topics for the final round of debates consisted of the most
critical issues in contemporary society. as you might imagine, every
debate was extremely intense and exciting!

我们非常高兴能在这里和大家分享我们的观点.众所周知,商业化就是依靠商业行为赢得
利润.当商业化与体育相结合时,体育竞赛的性质就由支持运动员转向为商家服务。
如果钱是那么坏的东西，为何大家领到工资时那么高兴呢?而且我们更不明白的是,对方
辩友提出我们要对越来越少的泪水感到可惜.飞机会坠毁,但人们可以预防.刀子可以杀
人,但我们可以制止.商业化有弱点,但弱点可以得到改善啊.
评委,辩友,女士们,先生们,早上好.今天我们要提出私立学校应该在中国大力推广的想
法.
尊敬的评委,女士们,先生们.我们很荣幸今天能站在这里,与对方辩友讨论这个问题.仔
细听了对方的发言之后,我们留下了很深的印象.

we learned a lot in this debating competition. but facing other thinking
mind from all over of china and competing with them, giving response. this
is quite new experience to us
通过这次比赛，我们学到了很多东西。面对来自全国各地的辩友，面对各种观点及反驳
，我们以前从来没有经历过这样的比赛。

we lost in the second match, but i don't think that there is anything i
should regretful. because all the debaters are all very strong. most
important thing is your participation in the competition and indeed
enriches my experience.
我们输掉了第二场比赛,但是我并没有因此感到遗憾.因为所有的参赛的选手的实力都很
强.我想对我们来说最重要的是我们参与了比赛,并且丰富了我们的经历.

和其他英语比赛相比较,英语辩论赛不仅考察了学生的口语和听力，而且考察了学生的
思辩能力、心理素质、语言艺术和知识的积累。
compared with other english competitions, the "fltrp cup" debates not only
test its participants' spoken and listening abilities, but also test their
thinking skills, morals, artistic use of language, as well as their general
knowledge.

there are two main skills associate with the debating apart from language
and of course been well prepared with subject. these to do with are
assertions and with responses. when some of the objection makes a points,
the best thing to do is to response immediately to that point. this of
course means to you have to be well prepared, but you also have to think
how to responed.and it is good if the objection haven't given any evidence,
then you ask for it, not but just say please response but using rather more
conquest language in english.
在辩论过程中，除了语言和为辩题做准备之外，还有两个比较重要的技巧，那就是坚持
自己的观点和做出快速的回答。但对方提出一些观点时，你最好马上做出反应。当然了
这需要你对辩题进行了充分的准备。如果对方没有提出具体的论据，那你就要用更具体
的语言进行反驳。

在辩论的过程中同学们增长了知识，提高了能力。"外研社杯"英语辩论赛还会继续办下
去，相信还会有更多的大学生参与进来，让我们共同祝愿它能越办越好。
all the participants learned a lot and increased their language skills
throughout the course of the competition. the "fltrp cup" national english
debating competition will hopefully be held for many years to come. next
time, we hope there will be even more applicants from even more
universities, and that every competition will be better than the last!
